In a new step that reflects Yalla Kafala Organization’s growing role as a key partner in supporting and strengthening the Kafala system in Egypt, the Organization has joined the Supreme Committee for Alternative Kafala Families at the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
This membership marks an important opportunity for Yalla Kafala to contribute to ongoing efforts that aim to uphold the best interests of children while strengthening the support provided to Kafala families throughout their journey.
The Supreme Committee for Alternative Families plays a central role in overseeing the Kafala system through a framework built on governance, coordination, and continuous follow-up.
The Committee reviews Kafala applications, evaluates prospective Kafala families, and monitors procedures to help ensure that children are placed in safe, stable, and nurturing environments.
It also coordinates efforts among relevant entities and follows up with local committees to strengthen the quality of services and support provided to children and families.
Yalla Kafala Organization’s participation in the Supreme Committee marks an important milestone, built on the Organization’s practical, on-the-ground experience working with children and Kafala families.
The Organization’s role extends beyond raising awareness and supporting families throughout their Kafala journey. Its participation in the Committee brings this experience directly into discussions and decision-making processes focused on developing the Kafala system, addressing existing challenges, and contributing practical solutions that place children’s best interests at the heart of the process.
Through its membership in the Supreme Committee, Yalla Kafala Organization contributes by:
Participating in discussions on decisions related to the Kafala system.
Taking part in voting on Committee decisions.
Sharing real-world experiences and insights from children and Kafala families.
Contributing to the development of support and follow-up mechanisms for Kafala families.
Collaborating with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and relevant stakeholders to strengthen and further develop the Kafala system.
